...Because Hillary and McCain may be nominated for their respective parties. Ron Paul already has a good momentum for a third party run and can easily attack Hillary and McCain's very SIMILAR platforms. C'mon, just imagine all the vehement anti-war progressives (the ones you heard about 1-2 years ago and the bush bashers) and all the disillusioned, disgruntled conservative republicans. They'll have no choice but to vote for Ron Paul.

Honestly, it would be so much easier. The republican title is tainted and no sane person wants to be associated with it anymore because it's neoconned.

This message has to get to HQ...

RON PAUL MUST RUN 3rd PARTY!

* I meant "3rd" party*

Ron Paul is not going to leave the Republican Party and give up his House seat to run 3rd party. It isn't going to happen.

It woud be nice if he endorses the Constitution or Libertarian party candidate and whoever it is manages to pick up where RP left off, with all the grassroots support going on.

4rd Party?

Wouldn't that be 3th?

Seriously, I think we have a much better chance of retaking the GOP than going outside of it. The Republicans are becoming more fragmented every day, eventually they will have to acknowledge that Ron Paul is the Conservative standard bearer.

Or they will be the new 3rd party in 2009.

He doesn't have to.

He never left the Republican party; he only took the Libertarian party's nomination.

Similarly, this time around, he could take the nominations of Libertarian, Reform, and Constitution, and yet still remain personally a Republican.

This doesn't matter. Everyone but the Neo Con's know Ron Paul is a true Republican. It doesn't mater if he runs as a Libertarian, Independent, or whatever. He doesn't need to give up his house seat either to do so. You can run for 2 things at the same time. From what I understand he will easily win re-election to his house seat.

I think he should run 3rd party if it turns out to be a Hillary vs McCain general election. I've been a life long Republican. I'm from AZ. I can't vote for McCain for anything. He's a liar and a backstabber who I think is guilty of treason for his open borders amnesty bill as well as his attacks on free speech (McCain Fiengold). I sure as hell can't vote for a Socialist bitch like Hillary. So I'd be happy to see Ron Paul run as 3rd party. We'd get another several months to gain supporters.

Please stop the defeatist third party talk, PLEASE! He has already said he is not going to run third party, and yet you people just don't seem to comprehend that. Its Republican or nothing. For me, if he doesn't get the nomination, I just sit at home on election day. i will be damned if I vote for the lesser of two evils anymore.

Gah I wish they would stop calling them "Party"s , the Republican Party... the Democratic Party....

Its no party! Its a nightmare.

If its Clinton v McCain then we will be running against Bloomberg as well, so it will be a four-way race...

So...it's defeatist to talk about a third party run, yet you plan on staying home on election day if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, instead of exploring other options that would give you an option other than the "two evils?"

I think it's more than obvious that Paul can't win against the Republican establishment, and I think it's up to Dr. Paul to decide where he wants to go now. But it's a little disingenuous to say you won't support him past the GOP nomination, yet call the GOP evil.

Drop the 3rd party talk. Paul has said he has no intentions of doing it, that the system is biased against 3rd party candidates to even get on the ballots, and he's a 10-term republican to boot.

He cannot run 3rd... He wouldn't win, and he would cause the republicans to lose, causing the democrats to win.

McCain or Hillary; both are equally scary and dangerous.

One would keep us in Iraq for 100 years and continue spending $1.2 trillion each year on our military. The other would bring the troops home, raise taxes and spend $1.2 trillion on bloated health care for illegals.

It's a lose-lose situation.

Prognostications Galore

He cannot run 3rd... He wouldn't win, and he would cause the republicans to lose, causing the democrats to win.

I just love you folks that pull out your crystal balls and tell the future.

GOP Loyalist.:D
