Ron Paul is skyping into the YAL Kansas convention! I hope they ask about Boston

This is territory fraught with political landmines. This is going to be a trial by fire. Rest assured the McCain / Rubio wing of the party is waiting to pounce on any perceived weakness.

I hope they don't. If it was a false flag, it's not the first time. I'd rather see him just doing what he's doing.

That's been dawning on me recently in regards to how Rand proceeds going forward especially with all the cheerleading as of late for the state and its henchmen. It's clear to those that think for themselves that the crackdown didn't net the suspect but the roobs in front of their tv sets currently think otherwise. I bet you could put cameras everywhere and pass police millages all over the place now. The sensationalism and sensitivity that has been instilled in people through the media is tough to overcome, it's truly a repeat of the day after 911.

Ron will have time to give a full answer, and he will answer well. I really hope they do. Recent events really make me miss his voice in Congress, I'm sure he'd have a floor speech out by now.

Yeah, I've been thinking that too. I can see that the McCain/Graham wing of the party feels vindicated right now, and that some of their recent comments seem directed at Rand. He hit them hard on the PR front with his drone filibuster, at a time when the memory of 9/11 and public support for the war on terror was waning, and people were beginning to question whether the increasing security state was worth all the sacrifices of freedoms. But now with the bombing and constant media coverage, the PR may be turning back in their favor. I don't know what the answer is, or how Rand should respond, or when the right time will be... Watching all of the public displays of patriotism and cheering does feel eerily like 9/11 all over again...but how long it'll last is hard to say. I thought for sure more strict gun control would definitely pass easily after Sandy Hook, or at least not meet as much opposition as it did. Public opinion seems to swing, in response to media and events, at a faster and faster pace these days, so I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
