Ron Paul is a CERTIFIED Write In Candidate In California!!

woooooooo!!!!! awesome! i am so grateful to all of the people who put in time and money to make this possible. And Thank you sailing!

Thank YOU, and your Dad!

I am glad that the write in vote I already cast for Ron Paul will be counted!

This is great! Thanks for all your hard work. It would have been even better if our group got ours in first. But either way the goal was the same. I'll email the meetups I contacted tomorrow with the "certified" news.

Yeah, I'd have loved ClydeCoulter to be VP, but I was concerned Ron might not get it at all. This group only had one in, so they must have switched to collecting them at some point. The last time I corresponded with the guy doing this he only knew of his one, for certain. I sent in 34 and knew of another 5 or 6 coming in, but beyond that, I was just hoping. Gail Lightfoot's group had about 10, last I heard. The fact that there were three different efforts didn't make it easier, but the point is that it got done.

Thank you very much for your help, though, the fact that meetups were made aware of it will likely make them more prepared to get out the news he is a certified candidate! I need to finish notifying the meetups I notified, as well.

I'm JEALOUS!! You get to write in not only Ron Paul, but Judge Nap as VP, too!! That's awesome! :):):)

Well, I voted before I knew which VP it was, but I knew it would automatically pick up the VP if I voted for Ron Paul, so that is what I did.

Now we have to get the word out, and also follow up with our counties to make sure they count them. Last time I bugged L.A. county until they did, but when I last looked (when L.A. finally counted them) San Bernardino had STILL not done it, so people have to ride their own counties.

This was posted on the DP about the effort made by the Paul/Nap group. "Only 10 out of the 55 Electors came from postings on the web. (18) Came from the personal efforts of a mother of three. Ericka Chiara used her computer TO INVITE people to a Declaration signing party NOT TO DISCUSS the differences between parties or candidates. She knew she did not have the luxury of TIME. Oh yeah and, driving through rain, sleet and snow to Sacramento, she also stopped along the way to pickup MORE Declarations and another passenger to hand-deliver their Declaration as well." Wow! I guess you can herd cats:)

Yeah, they were up north and definitely went the extra mile, they didn't have nearly enough the day before, but they gathered them then drove them over just before the deadline and had them counted on the spot.

So which states will recognize and count a Ron Paul write in now?

Well, even the ones that won't tally the undervote, but I'm not sure all the ones that necessarily will count for Ron. In Florida in 2008 some counties counted, but they didn't have to.

For certain I know CA, and ME and IA and PA and NH.... I know there are others but I don't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks... I know I'll write in Ron Paul if I can. Not sure how that works with those darned machines though. If I can't do anything else, I'll just leave out voting for president altogether. Somebody told me if I leave it blank, the machine will count it for one or the other anyway, but I doubt that is the case.

If you leave it blank it is supposed to count in the 'undervote' of people who voted but didn't vote for President. That is a rejection of the lot of them, as I see it.

Sorry Clyde....:p... it was not meant to be...

Yeah, I feel badly about that too, I'd have LIKED it to be Clyde, but I was concerned at the end, and these people were able to drive some in on the last day, which made all the difference.
