Presidential candidate Ron Paul will spend the final hours of Super Tuesday campaigning in Idaho, hoping to win his first state.

Paul's will visit Nampa, noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, to host a Canyon County Town Hall at the Nampa Civic Center, 311 Third St. S....

Paul's Nampa stop Tuesday will be the last of several events Monday and Tuesday. Paul will be in Sandpoint at noon Monday, Moscow at 3 p.m. Monday and in Idaho Falls at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Idaho GOP presidential caucuses convene at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Paul took second here in the 2008 presidential primary, his best showing. He won an Idaho January straw poll. Says campaign chairman Jesse Benton: “Delegate-rich Idaho is fertile ground for a competitive showing... .”

Paul is the only candidate without a win and appears to see Idaho as his best shot among 10 Super Tuesday states. Paulies have made huge strides in recent years in the GOP apparatus, playing leading roles in county central committees.
