This is the best shot for liberty.

If Obama wins, this country will probably go to hell in a handbasket within the next 4 years. The only bright spot is that blame would hopefully be directed toward statism/corporatism.

If Romney wins, this country will also probably go to hell in a handbasket within the next 4 years, but many people will blame "conservatism." Also, there will be no liberty candidate in 2016 (no pres candidate Rand).

Gary Johnson isn't Ron Paul, but is pretty close in important areas. The problem is, he will not garner major support, will not get in the debates, and will be ignored and forgotten.

With that said, Ron Paul and Gary Johnson should get together on the ticket. If they win, Ron Paul is president for 2 years, then resign and turn it over to Gary. If they lose, they would still make a much larger impact than Johnson alone. And if they loose, they would probably give Obama the win which may well be better in the big picture strategically (see above)

I think that an offer like this is something that Gary and the Libertarian Party would go for.

Governments do not move incrementally toward liberty. It takes a major shakeup (a Ron Paul presidency)

What do you think?

I have never seen Ron as relaxed as when he did the interview w/Cavuto yesterday -- I think he is HAPPY to not be running anymore. We always wanted it more than he imo.

I would vote for a Paul/Johnson ticket. Ron must be at the top of the ticket and no stepping down in 2 years. I will not vote for Gary at the top of the ticket.

Like CaptUSA said, not going to happen.

this. Gary's younger anyhow, and can run in 2016

But, sadly, I agree it is unlikely to happen.

no, Paul/Johnson
but Johnson probably wouldn't step aside unless promised the second half of the term.

Ron would bring something like $39 mill in matching funds if he were willing, and GJ would get his name out for 2016 as he won't do in this run with his budget.

He's already saying if he loses this he plans to run in 2016, anyhow.

But, while it is a nice dream, I've seen nothing from Ron to suggest he is interested.

I believe the most effective strategy at this point would be to focus on keeping one of the 2 main candidates from winning, and it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone needs to do the same thing.

Nope.

Ron Paul is done. People need to leave him be.

Gary Johnson is his own man (a confused one at that). And although I would have voted for GJ, the AG of Oklahoma denied AE access in OK, thus barring Johnson...
