If just 1 out of 10 Ron Paul supporters donated $100 this month, he would bring in a quarter of a billion dollars. Feel free to correct my math but here it goes:

On a national basis, about 170 mil registered voters.
Conservative estimate of 15% support for Ron Paul, which is 25.5 million folks.
If 10% of the 25.5 million national supporters donate $100 this month, that's 2.5 mil x $100 = $255,000,000

The only reason this seems "impossible" is because most of us want somebody else to sacrifice. If we as individuals did just a little bit, imagine what would happen. The only reason some of us feel powerless against the "mainstream media" and Wall Street is because we don't do the little we can and should do.

Do the little you can do now, and convince someone else to do likewise. You have much power - exercize it.

LOL. $10 mil is the goal. Let's try to hit that first. Then $20 mil. Then we'll worry about $255 mil.

The only way he's getting that much is through a SuperPAC, and that's not going to happen either.

Ron Paul doesn't have 15% support among all registered voters. He has 15% support among GOP voters.

Many are tapped out or maxed out.

Time > Money. So do your part in educating others, and we will bring in fresh wallets from those who want to contribute to the cause of liberty.

Wow you really want to put that much money aside to employ alot of libertarians to do wonkish things for the next four years?

I think that a more realistic picture is to take how many people have donated to him before and use about 50% of that, but I don't think that even 50% of them can donate $100.

We need to remember that even among supporters- those who like Ron Paul and will vote for him, the percentage that will take the extra step and actually donate money is quite small. Most Americans live their entire lives without ever making even a small donation. Ron has done far better than most candidates in getting his supporters to donate, but even for him, many will never donate.

Well, There are about 170 million registered voters in the US. rough 32-35% are republican, and roughly 32% are Independent. If we were to use Iowa entrance polling results as an indicator of how many independents cared enough about republicans to caucus while also assuming that there are roughly as many independents as republicans, then 28% of independents lean republican and 42% of them like ron paul. The last national poll I saw had ron paul with 12% of republican support.
|||||||||||||||||Republicans||||||||||+||||||||||||Independents|||||||||/10 x $100 = x
So then: [(170,000,000*0.32*0.12) + (170,000,000*0.32*0.28*0.42)]/10 x $100 = x
||||||||||||||||6.582 Million||||||||||+||||||||||||6.397 Million||||||||||/10 x $100 =

12.97mil/10 x $100 = 129.7 million

That is the math as I see it. But It's not all that sound either.

Something like this is more realistic. or focusing less on $100 and more on the quantity from that number of previous donors.

I laughed, but dang, have ye no tact? :-)

Seriously man!!!

If just 1 million people donated $10 every time he asked for it, he would be POTUS.

Forget donating -- if there are really 25 million Ron Paul supporters out there who are registered voters, just get 40% of them to vote in the damn primaries and we will win going away.

3rd place with 22% in Iowa was great and all, but there are 3 million people in Iowa. We only got 1% of them to even vote for Ron Paul in the caucus.

Voter turnout is the key to winning the nomination. People need to stop believing they are powerless to reclaim their freedom.

The Money is out there. Obama can find it.

A challenger should be able to raise 50% of the incumbents funds... but only after winning the nomination.

This is still primary stuff.

but of course obama finds it through political scheming

RP's money base will have to be more organic than that

if RP gets the nomination I have no doubt money won't be an issue against BO

Thats another good point. Registered voters doesn't equal voters, especially in primaries... and even more true in caucuses. So estimating supporters like that, even as I did in an earlier post... isn't very accurate.
