"Description

Write-in votes for Ron Paul in California will count. If you were outraged by the way Ron Paul and his campaign were treated by the media and the Republican Party this election, California can send the message loud and clear.

California has the biggest electoral college prize in the nation, 55 electors. Between California and New York are nearly 100 electors. 270 are needed to win. A strong Ron Paul write-in vote in CA will force attention to the Ron Paul message, and tell the world that the Ron Paul Revolution is here to stay.

Dr. Paul said on the Jay Leno Show that he might run in 2016, and his friend Doug Wead assures us that he may not be kidding. Dr. Paul comes from a family of near-centenarians and is in robust health. A strong California Ron Paul vote would set the stage for 2016.

The question naturally arises, why not cast your vote for a third party already on the ballot? The answer is simple: no one has articulated the message, consistently, as Ron Paul has. No one else's delegates were beaten and arrested. The message we wish to send is: Ron Paul.

In California the requirements for an official write-in presidential candidacy, whose votes will be counted, are fairly simple. 55 registered voters are needed to become candidates for presidential electors. See "Summary of Qualifications and Requirements for the Office of PRESIDENTIAL ELECTOR WRITE-IN CANDIDATE November 6, 2012, General Election" here:

For the rules on presidential write-in votes in your state, go to your Secretary of State's website, elections department. Here is a helpful link:

Come out Cali for Ron Paul! The Revolution has just begun! "

I'm writing in Ron Paul T-shirt. T-shirt reads: "I'm writing in Ron Paul! Ron Paul California write-in campaign 2012"

Now that I know they'll actually count write-ins I'm definitely gonna write-in Ron Paul. Might be unrealistic but if we can get Dr. Paul's numbers near Romney's in November (Obama will take Cali hands down, unfortunately), then we could definitely send a message for 2016.

This is great news. Californians will now have real choice. I am in Georgia and have no choice. My vote for Ron Paul will not count, but I don't care, there is no one else I will vote for.

Whoever is monitoring that page should do an invite thing, so we can see our numbers. I don't think likes do it. Put if you reply to the invitation, that you should be a registered CA voter and WILL write him in. It would be pretty cool to be like, hey Mitt....... here's 876, 592 votes you lost over the rule changes (and because you're a progressive asshole).

Ron Paul did not say he might run in 2016 on leno. Some Paul supporters are seriously delusional.

True. If you're doing this to get him to run in 2016 then you're delusional.

If you're doing this to vote your conscience then I can respect that.

last time people didn't know they could write him in until right before the election and only if they monitored places like DP that late. This time we have a little time to circulate the word.

What if people just don't attack forum members as delusional, regardless of their beliefs?

WoW. At first I thought my write in vote for Dr. Ron Paul would not count and I did not care. Now I am excited to know that the few of us say maybe 30,000 + who will vote for him can send a strong message to the RNC and the dictator Mitt.;)

I received a response to my email to the county recorder double checking that the filing for Ron was done properly and he would be a certified candidate (otherwise I was/am going to start paperwork). However, it was just the phone number of someone else to call, and I didn't see it until after the office closed Friday, so I will call Monday. I want something we can count on, so I will ask how to get that.

I've been checking in just to keep up a bit without commenting, but I gotta say, Ernest is spelled Ernest, not Earnest.

In Y2008, Ron Paul got 2% of the vote in Montana as a Constitution party candidate, and 1/2% of the vote in Louisiana under a quickly formed "Tax Payers" party expressly for this purpose.

So.... maybe with a concerted effort, he could get 1.82% of the vote in California as a write-in, and earn one presidential elector?

I'll fix it. I also think it detracts from his name recognition, to use his middle name, but I didn't write the OP.

edit - guess I can't. It is on the shirt. Yeah, kind of detracts from the product if they don't fix it.

Maybe he won't win any. Or maybe his being a write in candidate will go viral on college campuses where students flocked to see him (as in my avatar), and become the protest vote of the election. Who knows? It doesn't matter so long as you vote for the candidate you want.

LOL then you had better splash cold water on your face because now you're having the delusion too. "I have to rest up for 2016":

Was he kidding? His close friend and confidant Doug Wead doesn't think so:

Turns out Dr. Paul comes from a family of people who live to nearly 100. His mother lived to 97. His father to 95. At 75 these folks are just getting started. We are blessed.

I think Ron was kidding about 2016, he even said those words. However, he didn't plan to run in 2012, in 2008, either. I think there may well be someone else in 2016, but we can just let cards play out and discover it as it happens.

I've seen the leno interview, and If you can't tell he's joking, well.....

yea that's what I thought at first. Then I watched it again after his buddy Wead said he doesn't think he was kidding. Interesting. He delivers the line straight and isn't laughing, or even chuckling. I think he was already testing the waters.
