As of now Romney is on course to be the nominee and Ron 2nd...he's going after everyone but Romney. Tell me where I'm wrong here.
The game plan has been to knock everyone else out before taking on Romney one-on-one.

Source? Not that I dont believe you, but is this the official campaign strategy or your theory?
I don't think people here understand that if Romney wins South Carolina and Florida, the media and the party will declare him the nominee, regardless of the delegate situation. It will be incredibly difficult to beat Romney in a head-to-head if he is the presumptive nominee. If Gingrich/Perry/Santorum drop out after losing to Romney is SC and Florida, THEY WILL ENDORSE ROMNEY. PPP shows that in a Romney v. Paul matchup in NC, Romney beats Paul something like 65/25. It's in our best interest that someone other than Romney wins in SC (preferably us), to drag this thing on. I'm just trying to give an honest perpective here.
All this being said, I have faith in the campaign and their strategy. We really will have to just wait and see how it plays out.
I think hes being left alone because hes the easiest one for Paul to knock off after the other are out of the way.... ultimate Consistency verses the ultimate flipflopper.
I think the media wants Romney to be considered the presumptive nominee, but NOT by so much that the other candidates drop out. Once it's only Romney and Paul, they have two options:
They want to keep the other candidates in, just barely, for as long as possible. That distracts from Ron Paul, splits anti-Romney votes, and encourages more Romney voters to come out.
- Cover Romney vs. Paul. Paul gets tons of exposure...and he will be the ONLY Christian left in the race as well...which would probably make a big difference.
- Don't cover the election. Romney voters have low turnout, while we're still campaigning.
There are a lot of hazards going the way we're going, but failing to knock out guys like Gingrich and Santorum would be even more dangerous.
