YouTube - Resolution of the First Annual Tenth Amendment Summit

The following statement was approved by candidates participating in the closed-door strategy meeting at the Tenth Amendment Summit – February 25, 2010 in Atlanta Georgia – Read by Ken Ivory at the all-day open session on Feb 26, 2010

We The People of the several States created a federal government to serve as our limited agent, delegating to the federal government only those limited and few powers listed in the Constitution, and no others.

We recognize the federal government has seized unlimited power over virtually every aspect of Americans’ lives in violation of the Constitution of the United States, specifically with respect to the Tenth Amendment.

We call upon freedom-loving citizens everywhere to stand with us, as candidates for state and federal office, to pass meaningful and sensible legislation to restore the most critical check and balance deliberately designed into our constitutional republic: that of strong, sovereign states.

We pledge to limit and restrain all federal government exercise of power that exceeds in any way the plain language of those few powers listed in the Constitution and to nullify all others that exceed such limit.

When we restore the balance of power between the states and the federal government according to the Constitution, our country will enjoy the dynamic blessings of liberty and prosperity.

Sounds good. I wonder if this will go anywhere.

Did they produce a litany of powers, laws, agencies, policies, and other concepts and structures currently in place that should be dissolved, nullified, and rendered void?

If they have not, allow me to begin:

All restrictions on firearms manufacture, ownership, and comportment.
The Federal Reserve Bank Of The United States
State-granted monopolies
All SCOTUS decisions in favor of state power over individual liberty
All SCOTUS decisions based on flawed reasoning and/or interpretations of the Constitution.
All restrictions on possession and use of illicit drugs
All executive orders
PATRIOT and all related legislation violating the BoR
All other legislation in violation of the BoR
All licensing schemes.
Rein-in and/or elimination of all regulatory agencies including FCC, FAA, FDA
DoD "black budget"
All secret military bases and other installations including Groom Lake
Interagency computer systems where personal information on citizens is exchanged - e.g. driving records.
IRS and all other federal taxation instruments and offices.
Federal taxes
Eminent domain
All-volunteer armed force
Public school system as it currently exists
All property taxes
Demilitarization of civilian police departments
ALL international agreements including those of a military, diplomatic. or economic nature. E.g. NAFTA, CAFTA, etc.

How about a few explicit policies:

Government borrowing must be based on current asset movement only - IOW, what it borrows in 2010 must be paid in full by end of 2011 and no further borrowing may occur until payment is made in full on that debt.

Return to asset-backed currency. Does not have to be gold, but must be tangible commodities, fully redeemable on demand.

Full border control and expulsion of all illegals.

Limitation of standing army to no more than 100K personnel total in times of peace.

Abolition of the War Powers Act. No military action, regardless of magnitude, may be taken without a declaration of war.

Proper interpretation of the interstate commerce clause a-la "The Panda's Thumb"

Advocacy of state militias

Investigation of the Fed and upon probably cause, the arrest and trial of those found guilty of crimes against the United States with death the universal sentence. This should be extended to all persons on foreign soil with the gravest consequences for any nation harboring such criminal fugitives.

Institution of REAL free market capitalism. International trade will be limited by the single criterion that all traders with the USA must also practice free market capitalism. For example, China would have to abandon their system of wage slavery. I would heavily tax Chinese imports until such time that average Chinese labor costs came within 10% to 15% of that of the USA.

I am sure I am missing a ton of other items. Would there be any interest in growing and tuning this list for presentation? Just wondering.
