Republicans for Forced Military Service

Put another way, if it ever comes to revolution, or "1776 will commence again" against tyranny. Who do you want to join arms with? Strength in numbers right? A loony liberal that never touched a gun, is against all guns and didn't want you to have any guns? Or maybe that same person could have had 12 months of training with guns and they learn more about them and realize their importance.

We could do that right now, without getting Uncle Sucker involved, who would never distribute arms to train with in the first place.

I'm surprised they are not issuing shoulder stock pink dildos in place of service rifles.

Start a Committee of Safety in your community.

Or host an Appleseed shoot.

And for the record, I agree with you about community.

But you can only have that kind of community if the people in it are roughly similar in beliefs, creeds, races, religions and political philosophy.

Look i get it, Libertarians object to any collectivisms. A Libertarian would see his neighbor's house on fire, and object to paying taxes for the Firefighters to come save the neighbor. Then when his own house is on fire, he would run into the street in a panic, and no one would come help him. I don't want to live in a world like that. I want community and people helping each other. Churches helped facilitate community in the past, but these days, only about 20% of people regularly attend church.

A service obligation doesn't have to mean military, it could be 12 months of community service, there could be options. It's an interesting idea, and of course it will never work in this country, but as a thought experiment I think it could help with many of the trends we are seeing that result in the downfall of nations. The US constitution is our nation and has helped secure our liberties. Collectivism to preserve our constitution and our liberties is necessary.

I'm not a hard core purist, but a "service obligation" is creepy and way over the line for me.
