The blocking of them by Uniparty stooges Johnson and Thune. Pretty much no one understands what is going on. On X, tons of people are calling for recess appointments, but have no idea that they are blocked by the GOPe.

That kind of assumes that the Executive branch (Trump, et al) isn't part of the uniparty, doesn't it? Or even worse, part of the monarchy.

I tend to think of "recess appointments" as an end run around the way it's supposed to work. Granted, I'm not a fan of government in any form, but on appointments the executive is supposed to have the advice and consent of the Senate, right? When you do an end run around that with recess appointments, you've effective installed a authoritarian monarchy.

Now Massie's trying to get actual work accomplished during the fake session, but that's entirely separate and discrete from the recess appointments themselves.
