I support H.R. 459, a bill that would eliminate restrictions on Government Accountability Office (GAO) audits of the Federal Reserve. Congressman Ron Paul introduced this legislation on January 26, 2011. It was referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
I believe that transparency is a vital factor in ensuring accountability in government. If passed and signed into law, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act would make all operations of the Federal Reserve open to public scrutiny.
