Illegal immigrants are just doing what the Declaration of Independence encourages them to do......exercise their God given right to pursue happiness.

Since Canadians, Europeans, Cubans, etc can all come looking for happiness in the US, I do not see what is the problem with Mexicans and Central Americans doing the same.

Not when it infringes on the liberty of others with the mob political apparatus in place. Gutteriez even said as much. He said that Latinos need to politically 'punish' the indigenous people for their stubbornness. It doesn't get much clearer than that.

I'd like to add... Governor Brown of California says he welcomes more illegal immigrant kids. California and many of the border states is in a long drought period. I am pretty sure having a few hundred thousand people being allowed to come in won't help this water problem at all.

It is harder for Europeans than people from any other region to move to the US. In most cases, substantially harder. The US government has pretty much declared that Europeans are not welcome in the US. People from all of Central America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia are often welcomed, though.

You could not have been more wrong about what you posted if you tried. Coming to the US from Africa is by far the hardest thing to do and mind you, I am not talking about refugees who essentially are fast tracked and steered away from the normal immigration-get a passport-go to the embassy-and interview for a visa routine. The day I got my visa, about 3 other people got their visas that same day and that is about 3 out of 250. Most people that come to the US legally from Africa go through a battery of tests and financial qualifications that would break the average man. Also at least 80% of the Africans you see in this country came as refugees not regular immigrants.

The problem is that people in Western Europe, Japan, Canada etc where its much easier to obtain a visa to the US are not all that keen on moving over to the US. if they happen to be poor, their country probably offers more welfare benefit than the US and if they are rich they still have to deal with a new language and liquidating all their possession in order to come to the US. The result is not too many Europeans and East Asians come to the US.

Also you don't even need a visa to come to the US from most EU and East Asian countries. My brother went to the US embassy in Belgium and there were absolutely no queues anywhere to be found, this is because all you need to board a flight from Belgium to the US is your Belgium passport, nothing else. So no, Europeans and East Asians have it way more easier obtaining a visa that Central Americans, South Americans, Africans and Middle easterners (Saudi and the Gulf states tend to have relaxed rules for some reason).

The problem with trying to allow everyone and their dog to come to the US is that the US has become more of a collectivist and welfare society than it was when all the Europeans and Chinese were coming through Staten Island in the mid 1800 and mid 1900. You are now required by law to assist them with food, housing, education, and healthcare. So the more financially dependent immigrants (legal or not) that show up, the more strain on society. Legal or not is not my problem, all I care is whether they can stand on their own feed when they arrive?

All they have to do is get in a plane...they do not have to sneak into Mexico and risk getting killed there. Canadians do not have to even get on a plane.

Guatemalans have visa-free access to 114 countries. Even Putin welcomes them there....all they need is a passport, no visa required.
Since it is so bad there, I wonder why they pay $5,000+ to the coyotes instead of buying a much cheaper plane ticket.

Sure. All anyone has to do is walk across the boarder or get on a plane. I was talking about to be allowed in the US. It is easiest for people from Central/South America by far. The People from Africa/Asia. Especially because of all the refugees. Then Europe.

Don't get me wrong. Now that death is spreading in Africa, I understand that it might be harder to just get on a plane right now.
