Rep. Jonathan Stickland's "Former Fetus" sign ripped down, causes stir at Texas capitol

Do you think it is a sign of self-righteousness to be against abortion?

Hahahhahah this joke again? The pro-life movement is just pro-big med and AMA. Funny how 'against abortion' manifests in an increased regulatory apparatus and no punishment for aborting mothers.

Well, I agree with you on that one. That is very hypocritical.

Murder should be against the law. that is my view and it must differ with yours.

No, I just think our view of what "law" is and isn't may differ. What do governments ALWAYS do when given more power? They abuse it. I will always resist giving more, no matter what the cause. They can't fix the problem. They are not here to help you. More of a bad thing ain't no better.

I call anyone a hypocrite that supports endless wars, slavery through monetary policy, imprisoning the largest prison population in the world, denying and actively working to strip civil liberties, and well I could go on for a while, while putting up a controversial pet cause sign to show his solidarity to his people. Maybe some of you are right, he is indeed not a hypocrite, nor self righteous. Panderer may be more applicable to this situation.

I didn't come here to discuss the abortion issue. There is no "right" answer and I respect views from both sides of it. I strongly feel that a politician that uses petty bullshit to get the base fired up is well, bullshit. That's all this dude is doing. Sorry to offend some of you that seem to think he is a different politician riding the white horse to save the day. I just really wish he would put up the "No MIC, Pharma, Religious, Security, Foreign Countries, Prisons, Unions, nor PAC Related Organizations Allowed". They have killed a whole bunch of innocents too, no? This includes the unborn and those never even given the chance to get pregnant in the first place.

I won't call him/her out, but to the member that said "Ron Paul supports him genius...", or some crap like that while doing the bad rep thing: I am a huge Ron Paul supporter. Like many on here, he helped wake me up to the idea of liberty. With that being said, one of my personal tenants of liberty is thinking for myself, or at least giving it a shot. Jesus thought Judas was a great chum too, pal. "So and so digs him, so he must be good." is weak. I understand I may get it wrong at times, but the safe bet is always to assume a politician is in it for themselves.

Carry on, I hope he puts the sign back up if it makes you feel better. :)

That's some sick shit. So welfare should be provided if you don't want people killing their offspring? How do you even get to such a point?

By using my brain and not having a knee-jerk libertarian reaction to the word "welfare".

Your sentence shows where your focus lies. We aren't interested in punishing the baby killer. We're interested in saving the baby. If some black market people are pushing abortion on low income people there needs to be a support structure there for the mother to not feel like abortion is the best option.

Not to pick on you because your stance on abortion is shared by most anti-abortionists. They think murder is wrong but they don't think the solution to saving the babies life should involve them.

Your pro-life stance should be out of love for both the mother and the baby not from hating murderers.
