Remington settles Sandy Hook liability lawsuits for $73 million

Oh good...now we can hold Moderna and Pfizer accountable for death, pain and suffering from unsafe and ineffective CCP 19 jabs.

Right?

Right???

The very last thing we want to do, if we value our rights and liberty, is to reinforce the kind of precedent this settlment sets in any way.

Besides, Moderna and Pfizer already have statutory immunity from liability for any harm caused by their "vaccines."

Oh I know, my comment was pure sarcasm.

I don't understand this

"Then maybe we'll have a defendant that isn't bankrupt and that is able and willing to take things all the way to SCOTUS. One way or another, I'm sure we'll find out."

They are paying 73 million to go away. Doesn't sound like they are bankrupt.

Being bankrupt does not mean having no money or revenue at all. It means not being able to pay off all the debts you owe, despite whatever money and revenue you have.

Remington declared bankruptcy in July 2020 (and not for the first time, IIRC). They had to file a bankruptcy plan for paying their creditors at least something of what they are owed - by auctioning and/or selling off assets, for example (since they didn't have the money or revenue to cover those debts).

The $73 million for this settlement will have to come from selling off more assets, or incorporating the plaintiffs into Remington's bankruptcy plan (assuming they haven't been accounted for already, given these suits were pending since before the bankruptcy), or some such thing.

Seems like a dumb thing to do.

Not necessarily.

Settlement might have been a cost-limiting measure necessary to preserve Remington's bankruptcy plan.

That's why I noted that a defendant not encumbered by bankruptcy would be in a better position to fight a case like this all the way to SCOTUS.
