Remaining caucuses in Maine

Anyone find the numbers to these caucus sites from 08? How many approximate votes are we talking about? Even if we were to pull off a greater vote, although it would be a good psychological boost to say we won the the beauty contest, this is about getting more delegates.

Yeah, we want the delegates, but we should be able to get more people there than in '08, if you look at Ron's numbers in NH this year next to those in '08, and how many were independents and first time voters. I'm remembering it was over half of his support there, but I might be wrong.

I look at the numbers from 08 in Washington County. 115 was the total vote in the GOP caucus. I think that everyone is under the assumption that Washington County will cast thousands of votes. This is not the fact and the ME chairman was truthful and actually stated that the remaining caucuses may bring another 200 votes of which we would have to win 100%.

Also I looked into the numbers of the "last minute" caucuses. Ron Paul actually got 2nd behind Santorum. Romney got third. (8,16,4 votes respectively)...so the last minute caucuses don't show they were rigged to put Romney up.

But, didn't the GOP chair say they wouldn't count any of the votes from here on out? "count" meaning official.

If you want to try to make them count them, that is fine. I am just saying it will probably end up with the same results. We should just encourage people to caucus the remaining sites to get the delegates.

If Paul activists dominate the state convention (plus disgruntled Santorum and Gingrich people), they can pass a motion there of what the "official" straw poll results were, and make the state chair eat crow.

Could Ron Paul Still Win Maine?

"Ron Paul’s campaign is claiming that it could still win the presidential preference poll in the Maine caucus because of a county that postponed its vote and will hold its caucus next Saturday, Feb. 18."

"A more likely scenario, perhaps, is that Mr. Paul ['s VOLUNTEER GRASSROOTS MACHINE] would work to turn out his supporters while the other campaigns would not. "

"If Mr. Paul were somehow to secure the 194-vote margin, that would create a messy scenario for the Maine G.O.P."

"A handful of Maine towns outside of Washington County have also not yet held caucuses. In those cases, however, the caucuses were scheduled for after Feb. 11 all along. Only 45 votes were cast in these towns in 2008,"

"Washington County might theoretically have some untapped potential for Mr. Paul. It is rural and relatively poor"

YOU HAVE FIVE DAYS!

NATIONAL RP GRASSROOTS TURN YOUR ATTENTION TO WASHINGTON CO MAINE!

Washington county, on the eastern most tip of the continental US, a rural county where folks were used to toughing it through bitter winters with little money, became the turning point in the defence of the Constitution, when after having been denied the LIBERTY to go out and vote because "the party" was concerned for their SAFETY in a snowstorm, voters stood up to be heard...
