But it wasn't necessary to splice applause into that break.

The good thing is, this scandal makes the booing much "louder" than it otherwise would have been. The story is getting spread around. If the boos would have just been left in, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal. Of course a Stossel audience is going to boo Bolton's lies. No surprise there. The editing and subsequent scandal makes it much higher-profile.

So there's a silver lining. Still, Stossel should have left in the booing.
