The local press prints local news. If we issue press releases from local meetups about the campaign we will get coverage:
1) Plan a Press Release about the fundraiser, both before and after Feb 1st. Ask reporters from local newspapers and possibly TV stations to interview our meetup members and/or precinct leaders. Then a follow up article following the Fundraiser.
2) When it is released, spread campaign press release's about being #1 GOP Fundraiser. Include some photos and talking points about Ron Paul's philosophy (return to fiscal conservatism, eliminate the patriot act...).
Newspapers are always hunting for stories, should not be too difficult to get them to write something up if there are local people involved who can be interviewed/photographed.
The campaign can't do this, but they can give us press releases and if we contact our local media...those releases will get coverage. Let's maximize our exposure this time. Thoughts?
Is there a central entity that can orchestrate a grassroots PR release for local newspapers among meetups?
