Rand Paul Said He Doesn’t Believe In The Concept Of Gay Rights

No I didn't know you weren't free to discuss that here. In fact I'm pretty sure Ron's position on states rights and sodomy laws is not verbotten for discussion. But okay.
You do know that I've already pushed the envelope on allowable opinion WRT Rand, not Ron.
Rand is the topic of discussion... you know what, what the hell, let's see if I get a talking-to.

Ron is not right on everything, either. Ron has been spectacularly wrong before. Most notably on the subject of immigration - for a guy who is so pro-constitution, he sure as hell reads a lot into that document that just plain isn't there when it comes to the power to keep people out of the country.

But that's as close to he comes to being truly idiotic when he opens his mouth. So he says that states have the power to create sodomy laws: you know what? They do. And people have the power to totally abolish their current state constitution and replace it with something else that makes it easier to force churches to perform gay marriages. That's the federal system. I happen to think Ron is being idiotic in thinking the federal system can be anything other than exactly what it is (which is not, and never was, what he thinks it should be), but he doesn't stand out particularly from any other person who believes this.

But when has he ever called for tent revivals? Why does this pass muster with Rand?
Why do I need to spell out why this is a spectacularly bad idea to be on record saying - considering how popular the likes of Santorum and Brownback and Huckabee usually are in presidential races? The three of them weren't pandering to a tiny minority of Christians - they are all at least spewing a generic form of Christian fascism. Why does Rand go directly for the specialized fascism?

I mean FFS, Ron took principled stands that made sense and were logically defensible, and people on this very forum would go apeshit over how dumb an idea that was, specifically because it didn't appeal to masses of voters.
How the everliving hell is appealing to a niche brand of Christianity that happens to inspire derision in most other Christians ( and loathing in non-Christians ) a better idea than Ron's?
