Rand Paul is having a facebook like bomb right now to get to 2 million likes! So if you have facebook, share and invite!

I sent invites to all my friends. Pretty Optimistic move, but I don't expect him to get over 1,870,000. Need another filibuster to do that.

Is that really his facebook page? A while back there was some discussion about a facebook page that one would think was official but was not.....

That was one of the many unofficial Rand Paul 2016 pages.

Pretty ambitious to get to 2 million. Would look pretty weak if they fail to reach the goal so I hope the social media team knows what they're doing

I expect Rand to have 1.9 Million by the time he announces. Before Ron announced in 2011 I think he had around 900,000. Should be interesting to see if the double amount of likes helps.

I know what the goal is. The only other possible candidate for president that has more Facebook likes than Rand is the Ready for Hillary page with 2.1 million. Rand wants to have more than her by the time he announces.

It's moving up quick! Gone for an hour, return to over 5k more likes! I invited my friends and got 2 to like Rand so far! Everyone join in!

Can't you just buy likes with ad traffic or something?

Yes, one can but its pretty obvious to the trained eye. And the whole point of social media would be abandoned if one just paid for likes. Having real followers allows for rapid spread of information and 'buzz' building. Fake likes can't do that.

That's right. :)

I suppose that I was looking for confirmation that we understand this. There are political people who function in various corners of the web who hold the idea that I had mentioned with regard to just using ad revenue and pop-ups and whatnot to buy likes. Seems kind of selfish to me and misses the broader image. Some want to be a hero, I suppose. And, its true, heroes are quick to count their names, for sure, but, in reality, only a legend will ever leave any kind of real mark.

Great response.

A few comments feel they are being spammed etc.

Having studied social media they say the best engagement is 3 times per day on Facebook as not to prevent overload and getting unliked. Basically Rand posted the same thing but simply placed each states name for 50 posts and then a couple others without a states name. That makes over 50 posts of the same exact thing in a short period of time. Rand's team should be going for quality over quantity.

Also, I have noticed a few liberal spammers that copy and paste the same thing. Rand's admin should be deleting posts that are obviously from liberals trolling. The page is private property and Facebook affords pages the right to delete and ban users.

Oh shit I didn't even think about that WOW! LMAO

The CLUE is right in front of your eyes, I love the easter eggs that Rand's team leaves us sometimes.
