A damaging earthquake struck Puerto Rico early Monday, with plenty of aftershocks expected.
The magnitude 5.8 tremor happened at 5:32 a.m. ET, the US Geological Survey said.
It was centered about 8 miles south-southeast of Indios, Puerto Rico, at a depth of about 3.7 miles below ground.
No major injuries were reported, Puerto Rico Director of Emergency Management Carlos Acevedo said.
He said some homes were damaged in Guanica, and a home collapsed in Guayanilla.
Some victims of the earthquake posted photos of deep cracks in walls.
There were also reports of rock slides along Route 2, Acevedo said.
No tsunami warning was issued after the quake. But geologists warn of more tremors to come.

Punta Ventana, a stone arch shaped like a window and located beside the ocean of Puerto Rico’s southern coast, was destroyed after the Caribbean island was rocked by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake early Monday morning. A 5.1 magnitude quake followed just hours later.
“Playa Ventana has collapsed,” said Guayanilla spokesman Glidden Lopez, according to the Miami Herald. “Today our icon is nothing but a memory.”

Puerto Rico just can't catch a break.
After a series of earthquakes have rattled the island over the past two weeks, a series of even more powerful quakes and aftershocks have followed on Tuesday. The spate of quakes included a magnitude 6.4 quake which occurred at 8:24 UTC (4:24 am local time), according to the US Geological Survey. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center measured the earthquake at magnitude 6.6.
The damage from that quake, the largest in a string of earthquakes that have hit the US territory since late last year, has left one dead, eight wounded and prompted power plants in the US commonwealth to be taken offline.
For some, the destruction probably dredged up memories of Hurricane Maria, which left the island in shambles in 2017, and caused hundreds of deaths.

Though the island's power authority expects power to be turned back on later in the day, provided that "no other issues materialize,"

Fortunately, Tuesday's earthquake isn't expected to cause a tsunami.

A magnitude 5.9 quake shook Puerto Rico on Saturday, causing millions of dollars of damage along the island’s southern coast, where previous recent quakes have toppled homes and schools. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 8:54 a.m. (1254 GMT) quake hit 8 miles (13 kilometers) southeast of Guanica at a shallow depth of 3 miles (5 kilometers). It was followed by several aftershocks, including a magnitude 5.2 temblor less than two minutes later.
No injuries or deaths were reported, officials said.
Saturday’s quake occurred four days after a 6.4 magnitude quake in the same area and amid a spate of more than 1,100 mostly small quakes over the past 15 days.
