It was in the middle of the day, and he hadn't tallied it, was just talking off the cuff, imho.

they start with the first few days and then tally in the next few days?
at a midpoint of this, the pattern was emerging? the field bunched up.

538 asked if they would tweet him the breakdown by day (Saturday/Sunday). RP did 2% better on Sunday than he did Saturday. So... according to our friends in the media, headlines should read, "RON PAUL SURGING IN IOWA. Romney drops while Santorum sits steady."

You're only "surging" if the media wants you to be. Just look how they treated Cain/Bachmann/Perry/Gingrich/Santorum compared to Ron Paul. There was never even a brief window of positive messages about Paul from the media, as soon as he hit first in Iowa they started up the smears.

People talk about how the mainstream media's relevance is declining in the face of the "new media." This primary has shown that to be total nonsense, as of right now. The media made Cain a national frontrunner after winning some stupid straw poll in Florida, for Pete's sake. It's completely arbitrary and subject to their whim. There are any number of straw polls wins for Paul they could have done the same thing as with Cain over, but they chose not to.

I know. The stats are true, but the commentary was TIC. Mocking the fabrication of "facts" we see from the MSM.
Actually, if you look at each individual day of this ppp poll and compare it to the 4 day span of the DMR poll; any one day of this has a larger sample size than DMR and would be more accurate. But don't worry, I had no illusions of the MSM putting out a kind word for the true front runner.

RP has never been surging. He is the incoming <insert favoured expletive /> Tide.

i had an american history professor that was an expert on polling and polls and pollsters (and on american duels)...

this was way before FU Frank, too.

anyway, the one real thing i took from his class (besides the Civil War not being about slavery): polls are fascinating to study, but one should ignore them.

my gravy i wish everyone could take that guy's course. especially the media bots.

so true, reminded me of my black history class. What i got from the teacher was the civil war was not about slavery. My first thought in class was wondering when they were going to fire her for not towing the usual history book line on slavery being the cause.
