I had to post this. It is from the local newspaper in my area of the world (4 Corners USA). Just try to find Towaoc, Colorado on a map. (Hint: it's in the middle of nowhere)
Montezuma Deputies Chase Slow Driver
May 23, 2008
Durango Herald and Cortez Journal Reports
A 62-year-old Bayfield man led police on a 25-minute car chase at speeds from 3 to 5 mph in Montezuma County last weekend. The chase ended with police setting spike strips, busting his windows and shooting him with a Taser gun.
Samuel Luna was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of vehicular eluding and resisting arrest.
The incident occurred about 8:25 p.m. on Mike Wash Road near its intersection with U.S. Highway 491, at Towaoc in Montezuma County. It ended near the Eagle Claw liquor store, north of Towaoc.
Luna was allegedly sitting in his 1993 Pontiac Bonneville that was parked in the middle of Mike Wash Road. As a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer approached the vehicle, Luna allegedly drove off.
"He said he was waiting for traffic to clear, but there was no traffic," said Dave Hart, undersheriff for the Montezuma County Sheriff's Office.
"The door wouldn't open, and he wouldn't get out of the vehicle," he said.
So deputies laid spike strips and busted the windows to pull Luna from the vehicle. Then they stunned him with a Taser gun, because he kept trying to start the car and drive away, which put officers' safety at risk, Hart said.
"It was really slow," Hart said. "It did get up to 25 mph at one time, right at the very end."
It was unknown why Luna eluded police; he is not suspected of driving under the influence, Hart said.
Here is the link for anyone who thinks this is a fabrication.

Our shared reality gets more bizarre every day. Cheers.
