Ron Paul first introduced his Audit The Fed bill on March 4, 1981.

Thirty-one years later, his Audit The Fed bill is on the verge of a stand alone up or down vote in the House.

HR 459, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, is scheduled for a vote on Tuesday, July 24.

It will need a 2/3 majority vote to pass the House.

If all 432 Members of Congress are present (there are 3 vacancies), it will need 288 votes to pass. There are currently only 271 cosponsors.

Please pledge to spend TWO MINUTES on Monday, July 23 to call your Representative and urge him/her to vote YES on HR 459.

Ron Paul has been fighting for an audit of the Federal Reserve for 31 years. The very least we can do is spend two minutes urging our Representatives to support his bill.

Is that 2/3 of the whole house or of those present and voting? If the former, we need to push earlier for them to be present and vote for.

It will need 2/3 affirmative vote from those present and voting.

Good, but the co-sponsors still need show up and vote for.

They are doing it in such a way that there can be no amendments added before the vote. But will each vote have to be recorded so that we can see who voted and whether for or against? (I assume so if 2/3rd is needed).

I will, I already called though but I will do so again. Does this only need to be passed by the house or does the senate need to pass this as well?

It needs to be passed in the Senate as well, but I don't think it is expected to come up there until later. But we could be surprised.

It is HR 459 and S 202.

Yes, and my conscience will be clear.

It matters not that "my representatives" don't really care to know what 'The Fed' is, or how it works, my conscience will be clear.

Not surprisingly "my representatives" had the same issues with TARP... and my state hired one of the yea voters as governor...

Never the less!! I will call and my conscience will again be clear.

ONWARD!!

Absolutely, I'll pledge. I called the other day, but I'll gladly do it again. And again first thing Tuesday morning if that would be helpful.

I'll call my rep (who is a co-sponsor) and the one neighboring rep who is not a co-sponsor, just to let them know other residents in the state also care about the issue.
