Message from Walter Block...please forward:

Calling all free market oriented high school teachers; please get in touch with me.

I am thinking of organizing a conference on Saturday November 12, 2016 at Loyola University New Orleans. Its purpose would be to encourage high school teachers of economics and/or social science and guidance counselors who think free enterprise is the best economic system, to recommend to their students enrolling at Loyola University New Orleans to study with our free market oriented economics faculty. The high point of the conference would be presentations by the four Loyola economics professors: me, Bill Barnett, John Levendis and Leo Krasnozhon. We may also include one or two other free market oriented members of our faculty. In order to promote this initiative successfully, I need the names and e mail addresses of high school teachers of economics and/or social science, and guidance counselors who are oriented toward free enterprise. If you know of someone who fits that description, please send me a note to that effect.

Walter E. Block

I had no idea you were Walter Block. Glad to have you at RPF. Would love it if you could repost student scholarly papers in Austrian Econ forum.

:D

I had been thinking about high school teachers recently too.... specifically the thing on my mind was how could we best raise funds to get more austrian / ancap source material into public school libraries? How could we make sure more people leave highschool aware of the works of Rothbard, Mises, and Hayek?

Also at the university level... I went to school for mathematics/econ/finance/psychology; BS "managment". I studied at 3 different uni's and I never took a class where Mises was mentioned... I was so disillusioned with university economics I took a 6 month hiatus in my senior year and probably would have dropped out had my family not pushed for a diploma. I've learned 10X about economic theory since I left college just independently studying at mises.org etc.

Nice quotes from Walter Block.

My greatest education has come from my unschooling.

I am drafting Walters invitation along with his credentials into a PDF, so that it can be forwarded to others, and then snail-mailed out to various schools.
