I wanted to attend my local straw poll. When I did an internet search I found three web sites claiming that the Adams county Straw poll had been cancelled due to to many Ron Paul supporters.

I posted the following yesterday to try and clear this up locally.
I stated earlier that the Adams country straw poll had been cancelled due to to many Ron Paul supporters. Turns out this is a load of whooy.
I recieved a responce to my Post here on Craigs. From the Ron Paul delegate who said "I was there, This never happened"
I, knowing that this could be a legitimate e-mail or may not be, decided to find out. First I did a few searches on line. I could not find any links to any referance for this information. Only Ron Paul forums with dead end links to a non-existing web site. So, I called the Adams county clerk, Who didn't even know what a straw poll was(He works in the election office of the county clerk). After being transfered to the supervising clerk. She told me to call the Republican phone number. Where I spoke to a very nice lady named Mary. Mary informed me that the meeting held on November 16th was held at the Ford dealership and a maximum of 20-30 people were in attendance. The meeting went as planned and the Ron Paul delegate was fully involved in the meeting.
Which brings me to the end of the story. Except, where did this lie come from. Of course people will say that it was a Ron Paul supporter. This is what bugs me more then the lie itself. I've spoken with a lot of Paul supporters in the last few months. I have yet to meet one that is willing to risk Dr. Pauls credibility with a lie so easily dis-proven. Most supporters of Ron Paul, support him because of his honesty, credibility and fabulous voting record. So, before you post anything make sure it's true. I fear someone created that dead links, old, fake website, relieced the story on a forum like this. Then just waited for the feathers to fly before killing the site.
Thank you for the responce Carl. Also, Thank you Mary for your informative help.
