This past Saturday I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday on the campaign trail photographing Rand Paul at his various stops throughout Iowa. The day started off in Burlington in the southeast tip of Iowa, and continued to Fairfield, Oskaloosa and finished in Des Moines for the Iowa GOP Lincoln Dinner with a dozen or so other candidates. As such, I got photos I'd like to share with you all. You can find more HERE.

One of the more interesting events was the Fairfield event, as it is where the transcendental meditation school is, and went heavily for Ron Paul in the last 2 election cycles. I think Rand did very well with the audience there at that event, as well as the other audiences he spoke to throughout Iowa. It was a lot of fun being able to photograph him on the campaign trail again.

Video of the Fairfield event.

BTW, the pic with the Hawaiian shirt guy with white hair is perhaps the biggest liberty lover in Iowa and one of the biggest reasons Ron won Jefferson county twice. He along with his family(mother in picture) are legendary.

I didn't notice them. I got there a couple minutes before Shipley got things started.
