The good news is since I live in the city I am able to keep pretty good tabs on the sentiments of the public here, and almost everyone is in favor of the developer. The city is getting blasted for this, and rightfully so.

Philadelphia has thousands of vacant lots that are in similar condition, and they should be thanking this individual for doing something that the city bureaucracy was incapable of handling.

The best part is the City said he was trespassing and wanted him to return the lot to the prior condition. So, I guess he should have hauled back in all the trash and debris he took out?

Of course! How else can they cite him for littering?

The city did such a better job with the landscaping. Loved the native vegetation, cement barricade, and hypodermic needles.

Seems the poor fellow did one thing wrong. He didn't spend enough money. You need to spend at least 5 times what he spent greasing the guberment wheels before you can do something to make the world a better place.

The most polite way I can leave this is to say there is a reason I avoid Philly like the plague. Which is a crying shame. I love a good cheese steak.
