Imagine...a "Peace Blimp"- defiantly displaying a message of peace across the skies of the nation, unable to be dismissed, ignored or brushed aside. Rallies for peace greet the blimp in every city it visits. Politicians, celebrities, movie stars, athletes, war veterans and peace activists make the call to bring our troops home by boarding the blimp for a ride. Crowds flock to the events and are educated about the war. With each stop along the tour the momentum for peace grows from a dull roar into an undeniable fervor until the seemingly endless wars come to an end.

Now, let's make this a reality.

Please join us this March 20th for the largest online monetary war protest in history. Our goal is to bring together 100,000 people to donate $10 each (minimum), creating a one day total of millions to fly the Peace Blimp until we the people force our government to end this war.

What should the blimp say?

Who should ride on the blimp?

Where should the blimp fly?

Glad to see they're not doing this in winter, and they also have backup plans in case they don't raise oodles of cash.

The website looks very new. There are tabs that aren't really populated yet, but it's fleshed out. It looks like some lessons were learned with previous projects' deployments (some were asking for funds before they even had a site to send people to...).

I have no idea if you're a privacy buff, by the way, but you posted your real name in your receipt It's not too late to delete it if you're a paranoid one like me. I might get around to this after Gunny's fundraiser.

I like the idea. Who knows what kind of press it could generate. God knows it did wonders for Ron Paul's campaign! Maybe it would help bring the anti-war left back out of hiding finally and make it cool to oppose the war again. It would also help Ron Paul since he has been consistent on the issue and it's by one of his biggest supporters.

Well send it out to all of the antiwar mailing lists you can find. Don't say someone affiliated with Ron Paul has anything to do with it. If some of them take money they were going to send to Obama candidates to fund this then it's a win/win for us.

I don't think this was meant for "official release" yet, as it was pointed out earlier. Still, it's taking pledges, and if someone's maxed out somehow and STILL has money (good God people...), they could plunk some over to the blimp if they wanted. I'm guessing this is going to be more of a spring/summer happening, which would mean late winter/early spring fundraising.

At least, that'd make sense... I've been proven wrong on assuming any campaign or fundraising effort uses any sense.
