Paul surges past Bush in new California Poll

Will this poll be considered for purposes of determining who gets into the next debate?

This is great!

Quick question to anyone who can answer, 5.6 MoE is bigger than usual, yes?

Yeah they only had 300 and some respondents. Still this is good news and shows Rand's numbers trending up. It's also the first indication of Trump's support collapsing other than Iowa.

I really REALLY want Rubio out. I really think the establishment will give him a push soon and try to get him go be the nominee.

Maybe not until after New Hampshire. See how Christie does first. The establishment is happy to cede Iowa, but NH is the weeder primary.

Good to see Rand doing OK in California! Hope this is a good upward trend for him! I read some polls from NBC showing Rand not doing well nationwide, but I could care less. Rand is focusing his campaign in winning voters, hearts and minds in Iowa and New Hampshire not in states like California or New York (no offense to anybody from those 2 states, I'm trying to point out that running a national campaign means squat without a strong regional base, nothing else) :D

It could be Rand is trying to undercut the impact of not winning Iowa or NH by keeping a low media profile, while preparing to finish well above expectations. Meaning, 4th place or higher in either contest, and/or finishing above Bush. Afterwards, the media will have a harder time justifying pressuring him to quit if they aren't doing the same for Jeb.

Actually Carson takes away from Cruz

man we need Carson out this race

you want Carson to stay in enough to draw from Cruz and put the 2 in a tie for 3rd and you want Trump voters to move to Rand, along with for Ron Paul supporters (Idiots) that moved to Trump because they actually believe what Trump says

I don't think Carson is going to drop out until after Iowa, but if he drops before and endorses Rand, that would bode well for Paul picking up some of Carson's supporters, though Cruz will probably also get some of them. And agreed on the Ron Paul supporters now backing Trump being idiots, truer words have never been spoken.

The sooner the better . . . Uncle Ben has been vetted out already, now in single digits for permanent.

Carson raised $23 million in the fourth quarter, despite all his problems. That makes his campaign one very resilient machine. He's staying in through Super Tuesday, at least. The only definite drop out will be Huckabee, soon after Iowa.

Carson campaign is a resilient fire pit for cash
- he has been vetted and might just be losing his Secret Service protection as a second-tier single digit candidate very soon.

When The Washington Post questioned Carson's China comment, his campaign sent over
"links to blog posts from September 2015 speculating China was in Syria . . .
which noted the reports were unconfirmed."

Some experts don't seem very confident in Carson's expertise.
Bremmer quipped at Carson's lack of experience in the foreign-policy realm, saying:
"I'm not overly worried about Carson displaying expertise on foreign policy,
in the same way I'm not worried about anybody asking me to separate conjoined twins."

Huckabee and Santorum if they fail in Iowa, Kasich if he fails in NH, maybe Christie or Bush too since there will be a lot of pressure to unite behind one establishment candidate to defeat the others. Rubio appears to be banking on SC.
