Paul seems to be surging in web searchs at the moment.

If you take into account the News Volume Reference, we really seem to be surging in spite of the media.

Of course!

heh

Nice to see that Santorum's search volume in Iowa is actually *not* spiking. I guess the Iowans have already seen enough of Rick that there aren't as many of them that feel like they need to look him up.

(edit): Also nice to see that the first page of results when googling "Ron Paul" is all either positive or at least neutral pages (e.g. wikipedia). More than Santorum can say.

actually it is but not nearly as high as Pauls. I don't know if thats a good thing for Santorum though considering his google problem.

6 out of the 10 Google News articles that come up when you search his name are positive. It seems like the racism news cycle is over. And some of the critical articles are very weak in their points as well.

The ultra-SoCons googling Santorum will probably freak out... close the browser... and then not vote for him out of guilt.

I think part of it has to do with the Kelly Clarkson thing, she has a huge following and her comments are peeking the curiosity of a group that most likely doesn't follow politics

Just because you are being searched on google doesn't mean it is a good thing. With the rash of negative comments and hit pieces by the MSM, I don't see it being a good thing.

Interesting. In DC most are looking at Gingrich... in fear, likely. In Austin, it's Perry. Everywhere else, it's Ron.

Have you actually googled Ron Paul lately? The entire first page is nothing but offical Ron Paul sites. You don't actually see any of those news stories unless you go much deeper or click "News". I'm sure a good amount of people do that, but a large number of people being exposed to information is good.

Btw... if you look at the searches for 'Rick Santorum', instead of 'Santorum', you will see that he isn't spiking in searches(at least not significantly).

I don't really think those googling 'Santorum' have serious intentions.

It is an unusual name, I wouldn't use the first name if I were doing it. I have to use both names with Ron.

Why would you google Rick Santorum when its easier to type in Santorum and its a farily unique name?
