I was watching Fox & Fiends this morning and I saw a promo for tonight's factor.

It went something like this:

"Ron Paul claiming media bias, then why won't he come on The Factor?"
"Dick morris on this subject"

Making Ron look bad. I understand why he wouldn't wanna go on O'Reilly (who would), but I think he should.

O'Reilly is an amnesty-loving, warmongering, petulant blowhard.

That said, there are already 2 other threads about this. :)

Bill O'reilly was trying to set up the campaign to fail by putting the campaign into a lose-lose situation. After the way he treated Ron last time in the above video, why would the campaign want to put Ron back on that show again? It would be nothing more than BO trying to corner Ron on drugs and Iran or Ron would simply be shouted down since BO's not a fair interviewer. BO's producers know this and were trying to force the campaign into a corner; either go on our show and get beat up, or we'll beat you up for refusing to go on our show. They are working against us as usual. Not much can be done about it but the fact that RP is going on Lou Dobbs should say something about this.

This is such a transparent ploy by the BO team that it amazes me how many people here have bought into it. Don't fall for the media's tricks and divide/conquer strategy!

Ron Paul might not want to give Fox news the ratings having him would undoubtedly yield.

Wow you just spam this on every thread don't you? Where's my block button at....

:collins:!!! matt collins has ME on ignor!!! :toady: i feel honored. i was about to go 'parson brownlow' :Don him as in every 'tenn' factoid i found online:cool:

Someone please explain

I 100 % do not understand why the RP campaign would do this! He is running for the republican nomination for crying out loud. The factor viewers are ALL republican. To boot , Ron Paul would skewer O Reilly in a debate. At the very least he could potentially wake up a million or so misguided citizens.
I am starting to lose faith....
Regards

GWB is not a good speaker but still won 2 terms. RP can study his strategy while aoviding unfriendly interviews.

Do you believe or not

See post #5 in this thread.

I read that.
This is not the time for politics or a petty game of "you hurt my feelings".
Dr. Paul needs to go on there and tell the truth.
"no one can stop an idea whose time has come" and it's time has come!
You either believe it or you don't.
The meek have not YET inherited the earth!

I think it was a smart move by the campaign to not have Ron Paul show up on Bill O'Reilly's show.

Yeah, it's the most widely viewed cable news program, and mostly by republicans. So what? That doesn't mean much when you know Bill O will pull what he did back in 2007 on Ron Paul again. RP won't get a chance to state and justify his views nor will he get a chance to appeal to anybody - you can be sure Bill O will be certain of that. RP has nothing to gain from such an interview and everything to lose.

Granted, RP will have to appear on Bill O's show at some point if he does well and wins some primaries. And at that point, Bill O would have to take RP seriously. But now is not the time. Although I do hope the campaign responds to this hit piece, especially in regards to their ignoring RP's polling results against Obama out, which contradicts Bill O's whole claim that RP isn't being ignored.

Welcome to the forums :)

Fooolishness

Well I got some news for you, RP will probably never be on Bill O because he probably won't win any primaries because he is not getting his message out to mainstream republicans. If I knew that this campaign would be run so cowardly I never would have donated to it! BTW it is not creating ANY media buzz. Bill O called RP a coward and said he was scared to go his show, and a few million people said to themselves "yup, Ron Paul is scared". I think Jesse Benton is out of his league here.

Apparently, he needed to. Some people still do not get it.

He never needs to. WHAT SOME PEOPLE STILL DON'T GET IS THIS: It isn't a matter of why Paul declined to appear on O'Reilly's show. That's his choice. The issue is, as we've patiently pointed out again and again, is that O'Reilly took the campaign's own talking point and deftly used it to make them look like they were wildly exaggerating when Ron said he was being ignored.

It was a tactical error. It happens. I didn't see it coming either. I forgive them. But if the campaign is pretending that it didn't (vis a vis Matt issuing a boiler plate campaign talking point over and over) then that's arrogant and wrong-headed.

The least he could have done is be on topic in addition to spamming. He is being ridiculous.

He actually has two IDs. He set the second one up after a thread turned into a longish list of people who had him on "Ignore." If you'd care to join us, just click on his name. Under his picture there on the left is a link that will get you started.
