Operation Grandma: Get Your Grandparents on Board for Ron Paul (Tom Woods video)

I converted my grandma. I said Ron Paul is the only one who can guarantee you will keep receiving your SS. It wins them over 100 pecent of the time. They don't care about much else. I tell them by supporting the only truly conservative candidate that will CUT ACTUAL SPENDING can we insure the funding for SS programs.

my grandparents are long dead but I've been working on getting my 64-year-old mother to see some truth for quite some time... she's been coming around

even the older generation does understand that we can't keep on going like this - and only Ron Paul has a coherent vision of where to go from here that is not Orwellian and dystopic.

I need to work harder on this, I spoke with my grandparents about RP on several occasions but have yet to convince them. I did however remove all of their interest for voting for Romney. Guess that's a start.

Great strategy for SC!

Both of my grandmothers are very statist though, because they saw FDR "end" the Great Depression as kids.

i been telling my whole family about ron paul. i got my mom to vote for ron paul, my dad, and i talked heavily to my grandparents and they are just not sure yet(watch alot of fox news).

I hang out with a pretty mature, but VERY patriotic group so emphasize that Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate standing up for our civil liberties. Many grandpas, like my husband's father are W.W.II vets who love our country and the constitution. Because this group usually does not use computers, they do not know about the REAL economic dangers and assaults on our liberties. So I've been printing out articles from sources they will trust, like the Guardian and Telegraph or Financial Times. And Matt Drudge. Here is a picture of me the grandma, with friends, at an event I helped organize. Most of the signatures I have on my ballot sheet are from this VERY traditional group of GOP mainstream.

My tweet was in response to someone who had tweeted that only hyped up druggie college kids were Ron Paul supporters, so I threw myself out to disprove that tweet.

My grandma passed away a couple weeks ago. She was lifelong democrat but we talked politics often and actually came around to supporting Ron after seeing him in the debates. I suppose her priorities were probably not what a stereotypical 85 year olds are; she liked Ron because he wanted to bring the troops home, end the drug war, and his stance against racial profiling. I think a lot of older voters care about the same things we care about, they just have a harder time seeing thru the BS in the MSM.

Since I associate a lot with older veterans, I can say that as a whole this group is opposed to war. But for the same wrong reason they distrust Romney (his religion) they fear Muslims. Fortunately my husband is very good friends with a local doctor here who came from Iran and that still has family there. According to our Iranian doctor friend, most Iranians love Americans and the West. They do not like their leaders and dream of an Arab spring in Iran. However, according to our Iranian friend, should the U.S. start bombing & killing innocent civilians (collateral damage) the underground pro U.S. sentiment might change.

People of all ages DO understand love of their children and how anyone would feel if their innocent child became collateral damage. Since everyone in my community knows the Iranian doctor it helps my husband and I explain the concept.

Cool! We need to do this. I don't have any grandparents still alive. My mom is in her 80s. I told her some months ago "Mom! You just have to vote for Ron Paul. This country is going to hell in a handbasket". She told me "Son. I think you're right. I just might do that." Find what works. Everybody is different.

Thanks for your story. Sorry for your loss. :(

There is absolute zero chance I will be able to convert my grandmother. Zero. As in none. As in I'd be better off praying to the Great Lord of Abernoth of the 9th Demension to grant me teleportation than try to convert her to Ron Paul.
