Regarding Rand Paul, his campaign was a mess right out of the box. He was caught using stock photos instead of actual people who his campaign insisted had provided endorsements. His website store included “Rand Paul Flip Flops” for sale. The education issue page on his campaign site misspelled the word “education” (it touted Paul’s “eductation” policies). He bristled and barked at the “Today” show’s Savannah Guthrie. And his official campaign announcement video was blocked by YouTube for copyright infringement.

Things are definitely improving :D

Must be, because that sort of bile doesn't rise unless the irritation is great. I dropped this little turd in the comments:

What a poorly written article. Were I the author, I'd at least consider hanging myself for the shame I would feel at this raft of pathetically embarrassing nonsense he has spewed. Once again, Salon proves itself the corrupt nitwit organization by actually paying dolts such as this to spew their lies and ignorant "opinions". Fie on thee.

For example, to criticize Rand Paul for a mis-spelled word on a page he did not personally author is the work of a small and sadly corrupted little man with an apparent ax to grind. That he wrote it in the first place, and that Salon approved for publication such pitiful and irrelevant nitpicking indicates to me that candidates such as Mr. Paul have your undies in a real knot. These men scare you and fill you with a self-etching hatred that eats at nobody but your pathetic and sad selves. It means that Rand Paul is a threat to your shriveled, diseased world view. Good.

I don't want to be on the receiving end of one of your critiques. :D

You probably have no worries there. Why? Because you use your brain as something better and more than justa lousy hat rack. It is clear to me that you have endeavored to properly educate yourself on the basics of proper human relations and I have no basis for assessing you as having anything less than sterling integrity. Perhaps you would agree with me that being such a man is actually easier than being a "progressive". The latter appear to work very hard at being the scurrilous little weasels that they appear. This is something I just do not understand. I am a shamefully lazy person such that I will take the path of least effort. That is one reason being a decent human being appeals to me: it is SO much easier than being a scumbag, which is a hellishly great load of work, what with having to fabricate nonsense that perforce must grate terribly against the Radiating Spirit that God bore into each of us. The lies and self-deceit... having to keep track of the torrents of bullshit that such people heap high into their lives... it would simply exhaust me. Decency, clued-inness, smarts, good manners... all so much simpler and easier than other modes of behavior. And to boot, they are pleasurable. Good God, there are few things as pleasant as getting all gussied up black tie on occasion and exercising one's social graces in more formal settings. I swear I am not lying when I say that it is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Few things give me the thrill of conversing with a learned and good-worthy man and being able to accord with him with a heartfelt "indeed, sir!" and a smile. The greatest pleasures for me in this life are all such matters of free choice and some practice. Truly, I pity those who have turned their backs to such.

I do not understand it either. I have personally known many such people and the effort they produce in the attempt to keep their house of cards from collapsing is astounding. Yet they continue to lie when the truth would better serve them for no reason I can comprehend.

The article isn't entirely wrong...

Part of the problem is the obvious fact that too many of the GOP candidates aren’t running to win or to lead, they’re running to burnish their Q-scores and Fox News contract negotiations. (“Presidential candidate” looks fantastic on a term sheet or a book sleeve.)

The scam aside, what does this tell us about the status of the Republican Party? It tells us that Obama Derangement Syndrome and frenetic screeching, as heard all across the AM radio dial and on Fox News, has become the standard for Republican behavior. True leaders who understand the nature of American politics and especially the necessity of moderation and compromise have been all but shouted out of the party. The traits that normally compose traditional gravitas have been superseded by the ability to pander to voters who are self-sequestered inside the bubble. Whoever ends up being the GOP nominee will be well-versed, more than any other time in recent memory, in the language of the raging horde rather than the language of statesmanship.

Aside from the "moderation and compromise" dreck this is pretty spot on.

That is, however, irrelevant when the author's lopsided and hypocritical whining fails to address the very same problems from the other side of the aisle. This is clearly a propaganda hit-piece and as such has zero credibility, just as is the case with that corrupt little cur of an author. He artlessly exposes himself as a dishonest fop and would do so even if every word he wrote about the GOP was were true.

ETA: Acme Sentence Repair and AutoFacePalm Service strikes again.
