Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s campaign did not file delegates for Ohio’s 6th, 9th and 13 Congressional districts. Eastern Scioto County is within the 6th District.

Because of these three districts, nine of Ohio’s 66 delegates will automatically be off the table for the former Pennsylvania senator.

Ohio has a Republican primary system that requires people to vote twice. So while Santorum’s name won’t appear at the district level, voters could still choose to award him at-large delegates.

The party doles out 48 delegates from the March 6 primary based on how well candidates do in each of Ohio’s 16 congressional districts. The other 18 delegates are awarded at large.

Republican candidates Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry and Mitt Romney were certified for all of Ohio’s ballot.

Ohio’s 6th District runs along the Ohio river from Youngstown to Scioto County.

Santorum’s campaign did not return an email request for comment on Thursday.

Good morning Ron Paul Nation! I thought we would start it off the right way today!

(MODS: Feel free to move, unsure of correct location)

i didnt get it. his name on the ballot or not? or will he just miss being in 3 districts ?

it's just nine delegates he's out of the running for

but it does make things that much easier for us, one fewer competitor for them and we're fighting for every one we can get

Exactly.

Basically it just further proves that he's...whats the word...umm...unelectable! Yea, that's what I was looking for!

Jeebus... Ron and Mitt are the only two that can fill out all the paperwork / satisfy requirements... This is fascinating.

Its unfair, the Ron Paul people are filling out paperwork, having people sign things and actually you know have people ready to be delegates, its clearly cheating!

the rest of the candidates are props and the establishment did not think Ron Paul would survive the media onslaught. Romney would sweep early states and it would be decided early, and delegates wouldn't really matter.

We are the monkey wrench.

The funny part about that is it is pretty darn close to where his Congressional district was near the Pittsburgh area!

was just about to write somethin similar...
what a big game this is... I know this is out there, but I still believe the establishment had Mccain choose Palin to make sure Obama would win the presidency... if you believe in the left/right paradigm, this would make sense so that the people would think we actually chose Obama... Mccain may as well have chosen a chimp, but that would of been too obvious :) we're going to see alot more coming from the establishment that we prob can't even fathom..
