I find the Democratic primary more interesting... Roberts is a LaRouche Democrat who supports the impeachment of Obama.

September 5th's special election is coming up quick, can't wait! Going to be another landslide victory to show who owns the GOP in District 11. Yahhhhhhhhh

We need to really GOTV cause word on the street is that some of the Taj folk are planning to meddle in this election on Cassis' behalf. Could be truth or just a way to bring all deck hands out.

Okay. I read that email and have been thinking about that ever since... I will get on it and hopefully we can get others in this forum to make some calls too. I actually liked making calls for the primary, I had some interesting responses from the people that did pickup. Good times actually, it's not as bad as some might think as you know.

Is there a September 5th special election and another in Nov for the same seat?

There is a special primary election on September 5 for the current 11th district.

On November 6, there will be a special general election for the current 11th and a regular general election for the new 11th.

Thanks for the answer, but I thought he already won the R primary? What was the vote a few weeks ago?

That primary was the primary for the next two years....

This special primary coming up on the 5th is just for the remaining 7 weeks of McCotters current term because he resigned.

Hope that helps Indy!

The victory party is at the Token Lounge in Westland tonight at 8:30. I got off early today as the rain started coming down and my god was the turnout at an all time low. Talked to a dude on the campaign staff earlier and they were robo-calling supporters and undecideds to GOTV. I had to travel like an hour just to get lit and signs because everywhere around me there's mass construction going on to turn out the vote for Obama by giving last minute work to the road crews. I swear, both major highways are down to one or two lanes, construction at most 4 ways, overpasses and on/off ramps. Anyways, placed some signs at some precincts between the victory center and my area and finally voted and called up a dozen people in my hood to get out and vote. Good thing is there wasn't any Cassis signs nor staffers at any precincts I stopped at.

If Bentivolio is the only one campaigning, he should win tonight.

I think the Democrat will be favoured to win in November though. The old 11 was tough to any republican not named Thad McCotter.

...the new 11th is like 55% Republican. Bentivolio got more votes in the primary, by himself, than the total number of votes cast in the Democratic primary.

I like his chances.

The Democrat will not be favored. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee listed 50 races they hope to turn red to blue and this race didn't even make it on their top 50.

I was talking about the special election. The election for the 2 month term, in the old district.

I've said multiple times Bentivolio should win the general election against Taj easily.
