That is the Liberal "Pop Culture" culture.
Do what everyone else does, because somebody who is perceived as cool is doing it.
In this case, supporting osama.
Like birds in a tree, one freaks out and takes flight and the rest follow.
They don't necessarily know why, they just do it because the first did.
You have a group of idiots who look up to one idiot that appears to be smarter than the rest.
They trust that the bigger idiot will lead them in the right direction…

Reasons people will vote for Obama:
- He's black...oh, sorry, "african american."
- All thier friends are voting for him.
- CNN sure seems to like him.
- He's not McCain.
- He's not Bush.
- Hollywood actors told them to.
- He gives a darn good speech.
- He offers handouts, thus reassuring the welfare nation of continued freeloading and lack of personal responsibility.
- He seems so much smarter than Bush.
- Change.
The real fact of the matter here is that no matter who is elected, McCain or Obama, NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE. The war will not end, more soldiers will die, bankers will get richer, freedoms will erode, the dollar will continue to tank, and American soverinty will disappear.
Both men represent only one group: THE RICH CORPORATES AND BANKERS who seek world domination and absolute power. The sooner people realize this, the soon we might have a true revolution.
That is why neither shyster will get my vote. I may simply abstain from casting a vote for president. Or I will write Ron Paul in.

He claims he will give 95% of Americans a tax break.
I don't know the number for sure but I have heard that 65% of Americans really don't pay any Federal income tax. I'm gonna go a step further with this. I never have paid any after my tax return came in. I always have to pay the State and I have to pay the Social Security but I always get every penny of Federal that is deducted + the earned income and child credit. Just being honest. Its a touchy subject and of course I'm not proud of it but its a damn fact and needs to be stated.
Ok, that said from an honest below middle class and middle aged guy that files a tax return faithfully every year heres the question.

You could have stopped with just these.
Not being Bush/McCain is a HUGE deal after 8 years of Bush/McCain failure. When you have 8 years of dismal failure, both at home and abroad, of course the people want change. How could they not want it?
On top of that, Obama IS SMARTER than Bush or McCain, of that I have no doubt, so people think he might have the brains to fix things (whether he actually does or not remains to be seen, but its a safe bet that old man McCain isn't bright enough to solve problems).
Don't feel bad, though, an epic failure by McCain is exactly what we need to fix the Republican Party- its the only way we can ever hope to get this nation back on track.
If Bush's failure wasn't enough to fix the Republican party and convince them to change their ways, why would electing another neocon like McCain suddenly wake people up?
I don't know what's best for the revolution at this time, but the same logic could be applied to Obama winning the election. The GOP would be looking to change its tune since their old ways lost them an election.

It boggles my mind to hear this; in fact, it boggles my mind in the same way when I hear ANY American say that they are ok with the idea of America becoming a socialist state.
I grew up in a socialist state, I've seen what the end result of that is - and it certainly isn't freedom, prosperity or liberty. Socialism is just a control mechanism for government; it makes people reliant and dependent on government in order to survive; and once you start voting to keep your dole check (which is exactly what socialism becomes) it is VERY difficult to ever get people thinking in terms of working hard and earning money ever again.
My sister works in her local council offices, and the horror stories she tells of girls growing up to get pregnant in order to claim council housing - being encouraged by parents and grandparents to do so - instead of ever trying to get a job...I'll let you know right now that even though I'm not a citizen of the USA, I will fight tooth and nail before I let that mentality take root and blossom here.
I want my children (who are American citizens) to grow up with something better. I want them to have ambition, and drive, and entrepreneurial spirit, not be a mindless cog stuck in a welfare state.

To be honest, if Obama wasn't physically appealing, he wouldn't be mainstream either. He's a good looking guy (I know most of the members here are male, but you can admit it
) it was one of the first things back in 2004 everyone I knew talked about. Its his multicultural background that has people interested in him though. So please stop calling him "black" or "people just voted for him because he's black" because he is many things. He has universal appeal.

While I disagree entirely with Obama's economic policies, I have little faith in his anti-war stance (Iraq will just be downgraded from a "war" to just another base to add to our collection), and his vice President scares me almost as much as he does...

I will still agree with you that posters here unfairly single out Obama supporters for stereotyping, ignoring the fact that the vast majority of people all over the political spectrum are entirely irrational in their political behavior. That said, I think Obama's growing personality cult is fueling the recent focus on making fun of his supporters. Before it became so easy to mock people's admiration of our "Dear Leader," I believe the focus was more evenly split...after all, it WAS a bunch of Ron Paul supporters that created johnmccainforum.com as political satire.
