In 1992, Clarence Aaron began serving three concurrent life sentences for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine — despite the fact that he did not buy, sell or supply the drugs, nor did he have a previous criminal record.

Today, President Obama commuted the sentence of Aaron, along with seven other inmates, saying they had been convicted under an “unfair system.”

I do enjoy this soft side of Obama. I could never in a million years imagine Romney doing something like this.

The week before he commuted these eight sentences, thus sparing their life, (I suppose), a drone strike killed 15 civilians in Yemen.

Soft side?

He commuted eight sentences. In a prison population that totals in the millions. With 83% of them having not committed a crime. While simultaneously ratcheting up DEA raids on medicinal marijuana users. And refusing to prosecute bankers. He commuted eight sentences.

Again. Millions. Rotting. UCR reports 83% haven't committed a crime. He commuted eight sentences.

I better go to sleep. Your thread, and attitude, depressed me.

A person arrested every two seconds. A majority of those arrests being for victimless crimes.

He commuted eight sentences.

That's 16 seconds worth of arrests.

He pardoned two turkeys. And commuted eight sentences.

What a hero. Who kills brown babies in far away lands. But a hero nonetheless, because he commuted eight sentences.
