I heard about this yesterday on the John Bachelor show on WABC ( a good show dealing with economic and foreign policy from a classical liberal perspective)
Recently washington bureacrats sent $277 million down the drain to corrupt socialists in El Salvador.
The Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front, who we are now funding, is the same group we fought against in the 80's by funding rebel groups.
In the 1980s they were self proclaimed Marxists, now they call themselves "progressive national socialists". They have failed to implement any economic reforms and are one of the most corrupt governments on the planet.
This action has prompted bipartisan criticism.
On the John Bachelor show they mentioned two possible reasons for this outageous and irresponsible action:
1. The bureaucrats have to give so much money each year to "the needy", or they loose their jobs.
2. The Obama administration wanted to show they were "taking action" to stop the problem of illegal minors crossing our border.
This is just another reason we need to elect more limited government people to Washington.
