not for the faint of heart.. or those with vertigo

You couldn't get me to take that job for all the cigars in Havana. One misstep or slip on a wet or icy foothold and you're an open-faced pavement and gut-butter sandwich.

He's teethering himself as he goes. It's still dangerous, of course. But he's hooked on...

Sissies, the lot of you!

I looked into this when I was younger, but the pay was too low and I wasn't able to be away from home that much (who would take care of the dog?). Still, I'd like to try it out a couple of times!

Agreed. This would be a blast! Holding your life in your own hands is a great feeling.

I don't think you watched this very closely.

forget doing -- I could barely WATCH him doing it.. my cheeks were gripping my seat hard when I could look

He's tethered, he just doesn't move the hook often for practical reasons.
HB, seriously? He's occasionally tethered, a very small percentage of the time, the time when he stops moving. Again, I do not think you watched this very closely.

Anyway, I like climbing things. We should all live in Jetsons houses. And then spend most of our time on the roofs. No, wait, we could have glass floors!

I used to work for a company that built and maintained cell towers. They generally don't tether themselves because it slows them down too much.

HOwever, when they get to the top, onlyto find out they need a part they don't have, they will tether themselves while they nap, waiting for it to arrive.
