Also needs to point out that Rands initial complaint in the debate was about Rubios plan for child benefits, shattering the illusion that Rubio is an conservative on domestic spending. Everyone knows by now that Rubio is for an blank check to the military. To some in the GOP, that's good, to others that's bad. People are unlikely to change their minds about that reading comments, but most are conservatives on domestic spending, so pointing out that is gonna be damaging for Rubio.

Rand needs to use the foreign debt as a talking point. For example, during that exchange with Rubio, in response to having a strong foreign policy, he could have said something like:

"China & Russia could cripple us without firing a shot. All they would have to do is demand immediate repayment of our debts. China currently holds 1.2 trillion in U.S. debt & Russia holds 165 billion. It would cause havoc to the country since we don't have the money to pay them back."
