NEW Public Policy Polling Poll: Klobuchar Up by 19

What is concerning is that he is not matching the Romney numbers in the state. MN would be a very tough state for a Republican to win, especially defeating an incumbent. It's one of the reasons, Bills was way down on my list as far as candidates I planned on donating to this year. He seems like a great guy, but he may have to wait until there is an open seat to have a better shot at winning.

If your name isn't Coleman or Pawlenty, you don't stand a chance as a Republican for the Senate seats.

Klobuchar's negatives need to go to go up to even have a chance. If he can get her under 50% then maybe he has a chance.

so whats it looking like for Bills right now? is there any phone from home stuff we can do?

I'm not aware of any phone from home stuff. Bills is definitely solidifying his base and reaching out to non-GOP groups. Let's hope he continues this strategy since the hardened GOPe may vote for Klobuchar or the independent candidate just to spite him. He had a nice presence today at a Gary Johnson/Ventura speaking event I attended.

The best way to help Bills right now is to donate. Fundraising is where the big battle is to get his name and ads on TV. Bills could tighten this race if he gets better name recognition, but that's only going to happen with debates and paid advertising. I hope a phone from home sort of set up is forthcoming.

At this point, we need a home run.

I have issues with Ventura, but I would like to see him come out in full force for Bills, because he ain't winning with what he has now.

Did Ventura's performance do good for Minnesotans? If so, a lobbying of Ventura to get on the trail for Bills would be a great idea.

I think Bills would prefer to not be connected with Ventura since he (Bills) wants to appeal to the Minnesota republican party.

The party that did not rush to accept him. In fact, I think they may have even helped David Carlson create nasty attack ads about Ron Paul's connection to him.

Now the party apparatus seems to be really holding back. Yet he tries to appeal to them anyway.

He thinks he needs to get the republicans on his side, but actually he should be appealing to the democrats.

Disaffected democrats could win him the election if he played his cards right. He claims to be more anti-war than Klobuchar, rightly he is, but you never hear about that anywhere.

Also, I heard somewhere that he was infavor of the minnesota constitutional ammendment to redefine marriage.... can't see anywhere what his stance on it is.

If Kurt Bills wants to speak out against the wars and our foreign policy in general he might have a shot.

I don't think Ventura would really want to help him anyway since he's currently calling for an end for all political parties,
(though he does support Johnson on the Libertarian party)
