New Global Currency announced by the U.S. Gov't?

In the FAQ's:

How do I.....
....Learn how to verify money is real?

Ha!
Well, is it unusually heavy for it's size and yellow? Then it's not real. Call the Secret Service and take it to the nearest FEMA camp for processing.

"The unveiling of the [new] $100 note [on Wednesday, April 21] is the first step in a global multi-government agency public education program" ...

BS! that's just a new banknote. The real "new global currency" was in effect since the 1969 but they are in the process of introducing it more extensively to replace the US$ as world reserve currency. It's the IMF SDR (Special Drawing Right). Its role was expanded for more IMF bailouts in the context of "international development" in June 2009 when the Afghanistan Supplemental passed:
http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Supplemental_Appropriations_Act,_2009/Title_XIV

"The dollar-based global reserve system is already fraying -- the dollar has proven not to be a good store of value. But moving to a dollar-euro, or a dollar-euro-yen system could be even more unstable. We need a global reserve system, for a global financial system. Keynes wrote about this at the time of the last big downturn, but the need today is even greater. His hope was that the IMF would create a new global reserve currency. He called his Bancor, much akin to the IMF's SDR (special drawing rights). This is an idea whose time may have finally come. "

I'm looking forward to the redesign...I wonder what color it'll be?

Either way, this leaves only the $1 and $2 bill to be redesigned (and I'm half expecting the 2 dollar bill to be phased out in the near future).

Funny, looking at it, I can see where it would be easy for them to add a few extra zeroes on there with minimal redesign.

Hollywood, the bills have metal threads in them. When you microwave metal, it will flash/burn. I'd like to see some real evidence of an actual chip in a bill or a receiver proving that bills are transmitting a signal before I'd get my tin foil hat out.

Did I ever say they have a transmitter in them? NO

They are set to be detected when entering and exiting the country when carrying large sums. Bills will be scanned at Banks and ATMs in the future... etc

Additionally, there are other hidden identifiers that were classified... but you seem like a smart person... go use the search function here on RPF or google it.

If the $1 bill has a noose around George Washington's neck... I'm going to become really suspicious.

looks like the color scheme they chose is brown, which, looking at the trends of a few other fiat paper currencies (particularly Canada), is what I predicted it would likely be.

its really ugly, I'm afraid to say...and yes, Melissa, it looks like he's getting stabbed. xP
