House Republicans are now going to add sustainability A21 language BACK into the Local Sustainable Food Policy Council and renewing it's charter for 5 years because "removing the sustainability language is too controversial."

My position is if they object to renewing the Food Policy Council without the sustainability language, then we need to let the Council expire altogether.

We need to make them realize that it's just as controversial for Republicans to promote A21 as it is for us to remove the language.

The annoying thing is I have MORE than enough votes for HB1094 to pass Ag Committee and MORE than enough votes for 1094 to pass on the House floor, but because two Democrats, Bordsen and Weiss were raising Cain about removing sustainability, now the House Republicans plan to renew the Council WITH the A21 language still in it.

We need to let them know, particularly the House Republican Members on Agriculture (linked) that is is more controversial to KEEP the A21 language than it is to remove it.

Ag meets Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1PM

Here is the bill that is 'too controversial' because of removing the A21 sustainability language, but somehow renewing the Council retaining the sustainability language isn't controversial at all:

If they don't want to renew it without the language because of two Democrats raising cain, then we need to let the Republicans know that we won't accept it WITH the language either, and so to just let the Council expire and die if they aren't going to accept HB1094

Important for NC residents to contact Ag and H&HS Republicans by 1PM today (Tuesday) to let them know that the citizens of NC do not support Republicans who help advance Agenda 21 sustainability.
