So, I took a bit of time today to crunch some numbers after getting results from the City Clerk.
In Oakland County, Michigan, Ron Paul received 5.96% of the vote (cnn.com). I'll use that as my basis.
I canvassed about half of Precinct 2 in Commerce Twnshp in about 2 saturdays, and a couple weeknights.
In my precint, Ron got %9.73.
Total % in ALL Commerce Twnshp precincts Ron got %6.00... right in line with county results.
We're seeing similiar results in other precincts that had captains around the country. Another Commerce precinct that had a captain got over %11.
Getting out and talking to people actually works. I'm sure I could have done even better had I started earlier.
But I'm glad to see that my effort paid off. 4% increase for one person is not all that bad.
