Highlights:

The Lakes Area Tea Party is contacting its supporters, urging them to oppose a ballot proposal for a 10-year, 0.2-mill property tax to support the DIA.

And the tea party is urging its supporters to provide transportation to the polls, if they can, to support Durant for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate and Bentivolio for McCotter’s vacated U.S. House seat.

“Even if you don’t knock on doors of likely GOP primary voters, you can still have a positive impact by making sure your friends, relatives, and neighbors vote for Clark Durant and Kerry Bentivolio in the primary election,” the tea party sent out in an email.

Meanwhile, Bentivolio on Friday filed a complaint with the Michigan Secretary of State asking that office and local clerks inform Cassis that it is illegal for her to ask her supporters to wear bracelets with her name on them into polling places or display any other campaign materials.

“We want every single Cassis supporter to know that displaying campaign materials within 100 feet of the polling place is illegal,” Bentivolio campaign manager Bob Dindoffer said.
