I'm at work with limited internet access... amazing enough, this site is not off limits. Plz keep updating on here

There may not be much for a while. They are reading the credentials report. You can be pretty sure people will be updating here, though, it is tradition....

Here we go again:

One hour in and MN GOP delegates are fighting about rules. They don't have hard copies, say they weren't mailed. A bad sign?

The only rules that matter are Robert's. The chair can make a list if they want but the delegates vote on them for it to stick.

What? They're not fighting about rules being broken, they're fighting about whether or not to accept the rules committee report with additional rules for the convention.

My brother is there as a Paul delegate. I told him to tweet updates but I don't think he's much of a tweeter. atiger94 is his acct.

Starting the day already.. limited copies of rules were @ media table & there isn't enough printed for everyone. #mngop12 #mngop

Rule #7 violates many fundamental goals of parliamentary procedure and has GOT TO GO.

Edit: I'm not saying they're not allowed to pass it. I'm saying it gives the chair sole discretion in the ability to remove Paul supporters.

@usernamenuse - checking on it. Thanks.

If a delegate is generally in favor of a resolution, but only if amended in some way, rule #21(c) presents a major problem. If they vote "no" on it (as-is), and less than 50% of people vote in favor of it (as-is), they won't get a chance to offer their proposed amendment which would make it acceptable. If they vote "yes" on it (in an effort to bring it to the floor for discussion), and more than 70% vote "yes", then they will have passed the resolution as-is without the opportunity to make or discuss what they felt is a necessary amendment.
