Missouri pushing anti-firearm homeschool legislation # 727

I just gave myself a headache trying to decipher that legal blarg.

There is nothing specific regarding firearms but there are numerous references to home school.

I'm guess they inserted a single line somewhere that makes any home school comply with "gun free" areas, but I could not find it.

If they redefine a homeschoolers home as a school, as he claims this bill does, there needn’t be any language in this particular bill regarding firearms for it to have the effect he says it will. All the existing laws pertaining to firearms and schools would automatically apply, making all homeschoolers who even possess a gun instant felons.

Me too, including using various words to search on. I just thought somebody might see something that I missed. I like to look at actual bills because anybody can say anything and/or take things out of context - we have enough other things to worry about.

How would they enforce any home schooling curriculum?

Unless you go "dark ship", you will be on a list, you will have some form of "registration" that you must comply with, and you must be able to produce testing, logs and material proving that your children are being taught a required number of hours in a given year and subjects taught.

That seems to be in this bill as well.

Which is not the case currently.

According to HSLD Missouri is a no notice, no registration state.

I tried looking for that too. Unless I missed something, I didn't see anything.
