It just depends. A short enough clip with enough "GPU horsepower" thrown at it can look essentially indistinguishable from reality. While there are certain "telltale signs" that something is generated with AI, there's no guarantee that any of those will be present in any given clip, especially if it's short. I've been using local image-generation AI (doesn't have to go over the Internet, it all runs locally in my own home) to generate images that you would not be able to tell by any means are not real photos.

Photoshop released an edit-detection feature, but that feature itself uses AI. AI-detection-AI can detect certain kinds of edits and fakes but there is no guarantee it can pick them all out. So yes, you can have a fake photo or video-clip where nobody can actually prove it's fake. I think the age of AI is making it clear why the old biblical standard is, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word will be established." You need flesh-and-blood witnesses to establish what exactly has happened, regardless of funny-business. Their testimony may include things like "this video footage is real, I recorded it on my camera", but it's the testimony that establishes it, not the bare footage itself. Two or three witnesses are still required, that is, lone-gun video evidence is not sufficient to prove a serious accusation when there is reasonable doubt that it could have been faked. IOW, images/video etc. should be treated as an unreliable witness unless their provenance can be reliably established. I expect the courts will end up ruling on this at some point.

Trouble with even identifying videos as being truly AI Generated is the Libtards will still operate under the belief that "this technology does not exist" even if they watched the video above. Their ability to process information has been crippled by the poisonous toxins they put in the food and medicine, and brainwashed by the propaganda. They are unable to think.

The people we need to convince of reality with truly Deep Fake Videos that are inevitably coming are the same group of people that are "easier to lie to" than "convince that they have been lied to".

I could absolutely see someone like Rachel Maddow using something like this and then playing dumb when it's exposed as fake. It will be especially bad with stuff like the west producing video of, say, Putin talking. The vast majority of NPCs will never bother and won't care to see a response from the Russians exposing it as a fraud and the damage is done.

A common law legal system would hear a suit from the principal, wherein he would argue that the coach tried to permanently destroy both his reputation and his income.
Such a court would then rule that the coach had to fork over 50% or so of his income to the principal for the next 10 years as resitution.
It would only need to happen a handful of times before people got the idea that maybe they shouldn't do such things.

Every time everyone is running around with their hair on fire talking about the sky falling because of new threat X, it's going to boil down to the fact that our legal system is not there to resolve issues between people who live here.
It exists to take revenge on people who break arbitrary statutes.
It has been this way for at least a century.
The existence of deepfake technology doesn't change the root problem.
