InRonWeTrust suggested what I think is an absolutely fantastic idea. It will give Dr. Paul a powerhouse endorsement and silence some of the critics of his foreign policy:
Let's get former CIA bin Laden unit chief Michael Scheuer to endorse Ron, and make a 60- or 30-second TV spot for him.
He could say something like: "Bill Clinton turned down ten opportunities to kill bin Laden, and the misguided Neocons in the Bush administration are making matters worse by waging a counter-productive war in Iraq that only adds to our enemy's ranks. As a life-long Reagan Republican, and as the former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit, I endorse Ron Paul for President. He's the only candidate who understands how to fight Islamic extremism at its roots. He will go after the criminals who actually attacked us on 911..." And so on.
I think we could make headlines with: "Former CIA Bin Laden Chief Endorses Ron Paul."
What do you guys think? Anyone have contacts at the HQ to float this idea?
